Ashim Kumar, M.D.
Ashim Kumar,
M.D. is well versed in all aspects of reproductive medicine
including ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, in
vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection
(ICSI), and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). He has
a special interest in hormonal and functional causes of
infertility such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), tubal
disorders, and male factor.
For his
surgical acumen, Dr. Kumar was recognized by the American
Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists with a reward for
Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures. He has
co-authored the Resolve brochure on pelvic adhesions and the
Society of Reproductive Surgeons’ guidelines on the
treatment for fibroids for infertility.
Dr. Kumar
completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility from the combined program at University of
California Los Angeles and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
working with world-renowned leaders in the field. He
completed his medical education and residency in Obstetrics
and Gynecology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition
to having published numerous articles in peer-reviewed
journals on endocrine and surgical aspects of infertility,
he has presented his work at the annual meeting of the
American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He serves as an
ad hoc reviewer for the journal Fertility and Sterility.
Dr. Kumar has written several textbook chapters on
management of tubal factor infertility and ovarian function
including premature ovarian failure.
