This transition allows FSAC to prioritize onsite storage for patients in active treatment, while ensuring your specimens are preserved in a facility dedicated solely to long-term safety and protection. 

To maintain the highest standards of care, all long-term reproductive tissue specimens currently stored onsite at FSAC are being transitioned to CryoFuture, our new long-term storage partner.

Unless you instruct us otherwise, your specimens will be securely transferred to CryoFuture’s storage facility in El Segundo, CA and may be transported back to FSAC when needed for treatment—at no additional cost to you. CryoFuture will also manage all specimen storage billing going forward and requires registration with CryoFuture’s secure portal (see more).

Frequently Asked Questions

Partnering with a specialized long-term storage provider is a widely recognized best practice in fertility care. This ensures the highest levels of safety, monitoring, and reliability. FSAC’s partnership with CryoFuture means your reproductive tissue will be stored in a facility designed exclusively for safe, long-term cryopreservation and monitored continuously by trained professionals. 

For patients who are actively in treatment, specimens will remain onsite at FSAC until your treatment cycle is completed. For patients who are not actively in treatment, the amount of time that specimens will be stored onsite at FSAC varies depending on the type of specimen in storage:

  • Embryos – 2 years
  • Sperm – 6 months
  • Eggs/Oocytes – 1 month

CryoFuture uses GPS- and temperature-monitored tanks, housed in secure, impact-resistant transport vehicles. All specimens will remain in liquid nitrogen throughout the process, ensuring optimal conditions. Trained embryologists accompany every transport.

  • Your specimens will be placed into secure storage tanks housed in vaults resistant to fire, earthquakes, and theft. 
  • CryoFuture monitors all storage units 24/7 using advanced thermal imaging and a five-point security protocol. 
  • Billing and records are managed via CryoFuture’s secure digital portal: app.cryofuture.com 

Yes. Please register with CryoFuture’s secure portal to manage your storage account, billing, and contact preferences. Look out for a welcome email from [email protected] with your secure link. 

No. The cost of transporting your specimens from FSAC to CryoFuture—and back to FSAC if needed for treatment—is included in your storage fees. Only transfers to non-FSAC facilities would incur additional costs. 

Simply contact FSAC to schedule a consultation. Once your treatment plan is in place, we’ll coordinate with CryoFuture to transport your specimens back to our clinic. 

You may: 

  • Transfer your specimens to another facility (at your own expense) 
  • Elect to discard or donate your specimens (subject to eligibility) 
  • Store with CryoFuture now and make future decisions later 
  • Have your specimens transferred back to FSAC for active treatment at no cost to you.
